At ATS we believe that research and design efforts need to incorporate all areas of engineering. For this reason we combine mechanical analysis and design, material selection, thermal analysis and design, and experimental efforts into our product development efforts. We take advantage of tools such as solid and kinematic modeling, finite element analyses, and computational fluid dynamics codes to analyze and predict the dynamic behaviors of the systems we develop. Our engineers work together with ATS' machine shop personnel to fabricate most of our prototypes in-house for testing. Then in our experimental efforts, we use our knowledge of process control, data acquisition, and data analysis to demonstrate the technologies we have developed and use what we learn to improve the design.
