ATS’ research facilities include engineering offices as well as a series of labs for experimental work and analysis, all in Sanford, Maine. Our engineering space houses not only our engineering staff, but also a 39 node Beowulf cluster used for complex simulation (CFD and FEA) work as well as microscopy capabilities for our materials research. In addition to our in-house supercomputing capabilities, we also have access to the University of Maine’s 209 node Intel supercluster. Our lab space accommodates our extensive data acquisition capabilities, multiple engine test beds, a severe environment testing cell (where we test solid propellant fueled rocket nozzles), composite material fabrication areas, and other equipment for material analysis. We use these facilities for engine, rocket motor, hot gas valve, and other prototype testing.
